Cashflow for Android · version 1.0.1 · last updated 29 August 2026

Cashflow is a personal finance app that runs entirely on your device. It has no user accounts, no backend server, and no analytics. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.

What we collect

Nothing. Cashflow does not collect, transmit or store any personal information on any server, because there is no server. Cashflow does not require a cloud account. It provides an optional local profile and authentication mechanism, and the associated information is stored only on your device.

Where your data lives

Everything you enter — accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, recurring items, loans, goals, assets and settings — is written to a SQLite database file inside the app's private storage on your phone. It stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app.

  • No cloud sync, no mirroring, no automatic uploads.
  • No third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • Uninstalling the app removes the database with it.

The one exception: Scan Bill

Cashflow includes an optional Scan Bill feature that reads a receipt photo and pre-fills an expense for you. It is disabled until you paste your own Google Gemini API key into Settings.

When you use it, the receipt image you selected is sent to Google's Gemini API using your key, and the extracted amount, category, merchant and date are returned to the app. That request is governed by Google's own privacy terms and API policies, and it is the only outbound network request Cashflow makes. Remove the key and the app makes none at all.

Backups and exports

You can export a JSON backup, a CSV of your transactions, or the raw SQLite database file. These files are created on your device and shared only where you choose to send them — to another app, to storage, to a person. Cashflow never uploads them anywhere on its own, and once a file leaves the app it is under your control, not ours.

Device permissions

  • Camera and photos — used only when you scan or attach a receipt.
  • Files — used only when you export a backup or pick a file to restore from.
  • Biometrics — used only to unlock the app when you enable fingerprint lock. Biometric data never leaves the Android system and is never seen by the app.

Security

The database is stored in the app's private storage area, which other apps cannot read on a non-rooted device. You can additionally set an app PIN, enable fingerprint unlock, and switch on hide-balances so amounts stay masked on screen. Because there is no cloud copy, keeping your own backups is the way to protect against a lost or broken phone.

Children

Cashflow is a general-purpose finance tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling ever changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
